UPS Cargo, Miami International Airport
Security Management Innovations performs all security functions required to protect personnel, facilities, and assets for UPS Cargo Airlines at the Miami International Airport. SMI personnel responsible for access control, for clients and UPS employees. We operate walk-through metal detectors and scan personal items through an X-Ray machine for UPS clients and employees, secure the client’s sensitive freight and provide static guards and mobile patrols in restricted areas called Security Identification Display Areas (SIDA) in compliance with FAA & DHS regulations, provide incident reporting on web-based digital software and emergency/incident response in SIDAs, and are responsible for processing knowledge on current security trends and area coverage recommendations.
APM—Maersk Terminal, Port of Miami
SMI performs all security functions required to protect personnel and assets at the Maritime Terminal facilities throughout the Port of Miami. We provide access control, security screening, security patrols (vehicle and foot patrols), static posts, and incident response functions.
UPS Cargo, Miami International Airport
SMI performs all security functions required to protect personnel, facilities, and cargo for Amerijet International at Miami International Airport. SMI provides access control, security screening for pilots, mobile security patrols (vehicle and foot patrols) in cargo storage areas. We provide control access to the SIDA line (Security Identification Display Area) in accordance with FAA and Homeland Security regulations, and visual and hand-held metal detector checks on all pilot and crew luggage.
UPS Cargo, Miami International Airport
Prior to founding SMI, Alex Bocaranda, owner and CEO of SMI, served as the project manager for a GSA federal contract that included over 300 armed security personnel, Alex personally liaised with and oversaw the physical security of multiple U.S. federal agency operations, including the following: U.S. Marshal’s Office (Miami Office), Joint Interagency Task Force -Key West Drug Enforcement Administration, (Miami Office), Federal Bureau of Investigation (Miami Office), High Intensity Drug Trafficking Agency (Miami Office), Immigration and Naturalization Service (Miami Office), Federal Courthouse (Key West), and Federal Office Building (Miami).
